Military Personnel
HISTORY
Began July 1, 1993.
MOTIVATION
Georgia has numerous military establishments, and the downsizing
of the armed forces has made available a unique pool of talented
individuals, covering a broad range of skills that could enhance
the delivery system of education in Georgia.

WHO OPERATES
IHE.
REQUIREMENTS TO ENTER PROGRAM
A baccalaureate or higher degree from a regionally accredited
institution.
A minimum grade point average of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale.
Other requirements determined by the IHE.
PROGRAM DESCRIPTION
The program of study is developed by the IHE in fields in
which it has approved programs.
The candidate's educational and experiential background is analyzed,
and an individualized program is developed in the area in which
certification is sought.
IHEs have the authority and flexibility to determine the programs.
Candidates must achieve a minimum grade point average of 2.5
and pass the required Praxis II Subject Assessment(s) to be
recommended to the Professional Standards Commission for certification.
Some preparation may be completed in staff development programs
offered by LEAs for those teaching on a Provisional Certificate.
