Cross Endorsement

MOTIVATION

Teachers who have Connecticut certification may become certified in another endorsement area by taking the required cross endorsement courses and achieving a passing score on the required Praxis II or ACTFL assessment. Individual courses may be taken at any higher education institution. Connecticut State Department of Education certification consultants review transcripts, to ensure that required courses have been taken.

The college/university transcript(s) are evaluated by certification consultants in the Bureau of Certification and professional development.

The length of time required to complete these programs varies, depending upon the number of credits required, and how many courses a student wishes to take at one time.
