THE NATIONAL CENTER FOR EDUCATION INFORMATION
Founded in 1979, the National Center for Education Information
(NCEI) is a private, non-partisan research organization in
Washington, D.C. specializing in survey research and data analysis.
NCEI is the authoritative source of information about alternative
preparation and certification of teachers and school administrators.
Its founder and president, Dr. C. Emily Feistritzer, is a nationally
recognized education analyst and publisher. She has won respect
in the education community and the media, and with policy decision-makers
and the public for her objective and often trend-setting research
studies, incisive commentaries, and educational newsletters.
NCEI has conducted several national and state studies which
include surveys of teachers, school administrators, school board
presidents, state departments of education, local school districts
and individuals interested in becoming teachers. NCEI has produced
