National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education The
National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education (NCATE) is
the education profession’s tool to help establish high quality
teacher preparation. NCATE carries out the professional accreditation
of schools, colleges and departments of education, striving to make
a difference in the quality of teaching and teacher preparation. NCATE
is a coalition of 35 specialty professional associations of teachers,
teacher educators, content specialists, and local and state policy
makers, who are committed to quality teaching, and together, represent
over 3 million individuals. |
